Pat,
It pays to know your wood, some of the "Baltic Birch" is glued with water proof 
glues, and some isn't. A test of a small sample from each sheet wouldn't be a 
bad idea. Back in the 70's I tested some non aircraft grade Finnish birch 
plywood, several pannels were boil proof, and one came apart when sitting in 
room temp water. The ones that passed got used in a Cassutt. Roger Mann uses 
Baltic Birch is his planes.
