Anyone know of a set floating around and for sale?

Hi guys, Steve here. I have flown my KR many times at night. Went to Dayton
few years ago to the Wright Bros. Ceremony and left at 4 am and landed in
Albany, GA 3 and a half hours later for fuel. Also made a trip from Augusta, GA
down the coast to Fxe with one stop for fuel in Daytona. Talked to
I agree with Dana. Dean does not sound like he knows his history too well.
Without these other countries, including Canada, ( MY home country) there would
BE no United States. Its the immigrants that came here that have contributed
to make this country great. Example-- My Grandfather worked at P

Hi Justin. The speeds I got were almost identical. 165 mph cruise, about 180
balls to the wall flat out. The difference is the soob burned about 7 gph at
cruise, the corvair seems to burn 4.8 to 5.5 gph at cruise. I am flying with
the same prop that the soob turned and both engines were about 10
Hi Larry. I looked back at my knee pad writings, this was about 10 years ago.
I had the soob and did idle it at 1500 rpm to keep the temps up. With a 1.69
reduction this was about 850-900 rpm at the prop. I do know according to my
notes that it took me a long time to get down to 1500 feet and th
Hi guys, Steve here. Let me put my 2 cents worth about a mass produced KR.
Years ago there was an all fiberglass version of a Kr called the GB 2 ( I
believe). Only one existed and It came apart in a high speed pass at the first

Hi Guys, Steve Makish here. I have flown my Kr in all types of situations and
never once ran out of aileron control. If you taxi at 30 mph and slam the
stick right and left it will rock the wings at that speed on the ground !! I

I wouldn't believe any figures from Mr. Palmer. He once stated that his Kr

few years ago, he admitted it was in the 140 range. I once saw 250 mph on my
airspeed indicator, going straight down from 7000 feet but I won't
I flew my 3100 on my Kr for over 50 hours with no overheating of the oil. My
cooler is the 11x3x1 they sell at street and sand toys, a local vw super
store. It is mounted on top of the engine across the back and is part of the
rear
baffle. My oil temps never got over 205 and at cruise about 195
I flew with a 3100 until I had major valve guide problems. My own fault for
not checking the rocker ratio with the vw jugs. I tore up the whole inside of
the engine from metal in the oil. I had a stock engine sitting there so I just
swapped it out and started flying. I saw virtually no differenc
As one who flew a Kr-2 with a subaru for 500 hours, my impression was the
same. It looked like the way to go, but I was wrong. When I started out with
the

Hi guys, Steve Makish here. I have flown with vw' soobs and believe me, the
corvair has more balls than any of them. The main reason I dropped the soob is
the reduction drive was a source of failure, (3) times. I was doing NSI's r&d
and paying for it. The soob will not last long at 5000 plus rpm
