Hi guys, Steve here. Let me put my 2 cents worth about a mass produced KR.
Years ago there was an all fiberglass version of a Kr called the GB 2 ( I
believe). Only one existed and It came apart in a high speed pass at the first
Kr
fly in at Santa Rosa Ca. I was there. Brad Hummel and his girl friend were
making a 230 mph pass into a gusting Santa Ana wind. Post crash showed aileron
flutter and then canopy failure and the main spar broke on the right side at
the
fuselage point due to lack of stiffness in this area. The airplane was built in
30 days from start to finish. So, be very careful with any major mods to the
plans and pie in the sky dream figures. This is all available for your reading
in one of the early news letters buy Ernest Koppe.
Regards, Steve
PS. As we were standing there watching, this whole event took place in about
3 seconds.
