That gear is only for tricycle gear. The taildragger gear has a straight
edge on one side and a taper on the other. I went through the same issue
when I bought a donor plane.

I am not disputing that purpose built conventional gear can be used for
tricycle gear. I am just stating the fact that there are two types of
purpose built main gear for the two types. This is not an opinion, it is a
fact. I have physically held both of them in my hand and there is a
difference.

I will say that I bought a donor project that had tricycle gear and the
legs had angles on both sides. After confirming with nvaero, I was told
there was a difference between conventional and tricycle gear. The
conventional gear I ordered only has an angle cut onto one side of the gear

I was able to keep the everything the same on my installation except I
swapped the pulleys. This allowed me to have the cable higher since the
rear spar is raised up on the New airfoil. You can see how I did it at

Progress has been slow on my project but I figured I should join in on the
conversation. I've done a little work in between deployments. My short
block corvair is complete and I just got my landing gear from nvaero. I've
finally mustered up the courage to mount the wafs and haven't messed up so
far
In a turn, if you bank further, the downward moving wing's angle of attack
is decreased. You actually have to worry about the outside wing and the
increased angle of attack as it is moving. The reduced downward deflection
of the aileron helps in that aspect.

The Diehl gear has two separate leg assemblies for conventional or
tricycle. The tricycle gear legs have angles on both sides. The
conventional gear legs are straight on one side.

You are correct in thinking that. The different taper and longer wings are
the same as the Diehl wings which had the different taper and increased
length as opposed to the stock KR2 wing

I'm building my KR-2S fuselage right now. I added an extra 14" bay in the
back and widened it to 42"at the rear spar with no problem. The only thing
I did to help the widening is I haven't skinned the sides yet. It made it
effortless to bend without having to do it over time
