I called skysmith for a quote on my Grumman AA-1A and they never called back.
They use AIG which is usually higher.You might give Aircraft & Marine Assurance
a try they give group rates i have lib and 35,000 hull ins. and its $840 a year
mabe with enough people they could give a KR group rate. J

On buying a non completed airplane and the 51% rule. I went in on a KR2 that
was 75 to 80%done and my DAR said i would have to redo part of it to comply
with the 51% rule . But he also said by the time you paint and finsh and
insterments ect i might have 51%.Besides the wings were screwed up so

Hay Randy,the one thing you should reserch is aircraft maintence practices. The
FAA has a book on this but i can't renember what its called.As an A&P this is
the biggest problen i see when looking at homebuilts. Too many people use Lowes
aircraft supply for hardware which is ok for non structura
PVC is a great idea. I've got a Grumman AA-1A and the tanks are inside the tube
spars. And there are kits for aux tanks made out of aulm. tubeing. Point is if
its good enough for factory airplanes its good for us.
