Nose Gear. Thanks to Griff Pickett, he has loaned me the nose gear parts to get
flying again quickly. John Bouyea has offered to send me an assembly that needs
some minor repair to replace mine permanently.

I understand how it would decrease wear on the threads.
W\But, by tightening the nut, wouldn’t that increase the force needed for the
thimble of the control cable to slide around under the washer? It would seem
that the force to move the control would therefore increase.

It is not an AN bolt. It is a welded stud added to the nose gear lower
assembly. The assembly is steel.

Thats an AN bolt? I wouldn't think they would shear like that since they are
more elastic than a Home Airport Depot Grade 8..

I am in need of both a new propellor and nose gear assembly.
Had a nose gear collapse on my KR2S N1852Z yesterday while taxiing. So, it
wasn't too bad on the airplane except for nose gear and prop.
