Ron,
Bill Clapp has the PVC tubes in his wing tanks. Not sure it was irrigation
tubing. Pretty sure Bill just used PVC and it looked like 2 each 3 "

Just a thought but has anyone looked at building a fuel tank into the wing
similar to the tanks on a Piper Cherokee ?. Basically just a notch into the
leading edge of the wing back to the spar with the tank shaped to match the
airfoil and screwed into place. Easily removable for service and r

Cost, not sure if sealing my be a problem, weight, length of tube & fuel
sloshing a round etc. etc so made up aluminium tanks approx 8gals in each
outer wing. plus header tank 4 gals. Got the ideas from someone else on the

If I/we are in error then I do apologize and I sincerely mean that.
Quite a bit of time was spent trying to be sure that it wasn't just an error
on my/our part and I for one have used the KRnet search engine with success

Bill Clapp http://www.krnet.org/krs/wc/ used 4-inch PVC pipe, 2 each joined
together at both ends running from the WAF to the end of the wing and same
for the other side. Bill had removable wing tips for inspection. He had no
fuel gauge senders in the PVC pipes, but a 13-gallon header tank at

It seems that the subject of tail wheel aircraft had come up again and he
remembered that I had posted something about that subject on the KRnet, so
