Just a thought but has anyone looked at building a fuel tank into the wing similar to the tanks on a Piper Cherokee ?. Basically just a notch into the leading edge of the wing back to the spar with the tank shaped to match the airfoil and screwed into place. Easily removable for service and repair. It could even be cut out of a completed wing for a perfect match. Probably there is a flaw in this thought but it may be worth consideration.
