There are several KRs with Jabirus installed, and many of them have or had
cooling issues, although KRs are fast enough that cooling isn't u
NetHeads,
It's been raining a lot lately but I finally got a shot at flying Friday. I
took off work early and got to the airport to18 mph 90 degree crosswinds.
The wind sock was standing straight out, but at least it wasn't gusting.
Still I thought "I don't have to do this", so I crawled back
I am sure there must be a Jab forum where this could be discussed, unless
you are putting it on a KR and educating us all how to keep it cool on a KR.

hi dene i put a jab 3300 in a murphy reagade i had the same problem to fix
it increased the oil cooler size i then built a ram air box with six scat
hoses of different sizes i connected the hoses to the firberglass cowling

The Jabiru directions recommend the lip on the lower opening plus the
outlet opening be three times the size of the inlet. Jim McCormick at Jabiru
Pacific feels that there should be two paths for the air to flow under the
engine. One small slit to allow air to flow over the sump fins and ano
Adding a "lip" right in front of the outlet also helps "suck" air out of the
engine compartment. Changing the height of the lip increases/decreases the
amount of air being pulled out.

I think if I were attacking the problem, I'd go with the system you
found that cools the cylinders and then work on the oil temp
problem. Some type of oil cooler(s) with blast tubes for forced
air. Maybe a scoop on the side of the cowl with a hose directly to a
bonnet on the oil cooler. It
A while back someone with a 6cly Jab after having same continuing high heat
problems, came to the conclusion that Horsepower = Heat and the Jab doesn't
have enough mass to help dissipate it...Smart move for Jaburi to sell
the cooling baffles/system with Engine, though.

I have been battling for months now to get a 3300 Jabiru to cool correctly
in a Whisper motorglider.

Hi guys
As I only download email every three days or so, I have to sit and sift through
a lot of e mail to find the interesting stuff. I consistently find certain
subjects rehashed over and over so I thought I would start a new one.
I would like to start a thread on cooling systems or rather the
