NetHeads, It's been raining a lot lately but I finally got a shot at flying Friday. I took off work early and got to the airport to18 mph 90 degree crosswinds. The wind sock was standing straight out, but at least it wasn't gusting. Still I thought "I don't have to do this", so I crawled back in the car and drove about half way home, then thought "why not, it'd be good practice", so I went back and flew some. Takeoff was bumpy, but I flew around a while, took some sunset pictures, and then came back to land. It wasn't bad at all, despite the crosswind. I went way too far down the runway on one wheel, but other than that it was a non-event. Better than today when I missed the runway by about five feet (good thing the lights are 20' off the runway). It's been a couple of years since I've done that, but the cool thing was that I goosed it thinking I'd just go around again, but decided I could still pull it off, so I landed anyway. I did three simulated engine-out landings from various places and made it in all three times, so that was good. Tomorrow's supposed to be excellent flying also, so that'll be three days in a row! See yesterday's sunset at the top of http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/sunsets/ . Not much to it, but it beats laying on the couch watching football, at least for me...
