Sal,
There is a plug on the left side of the VW 2180 engine into the oil pan.
This is intended for the oil temperature probe. Ground is done through the
pipe threads on the probe at the engine case. You can also get oil
temperature info by tapping into the oil line if you have a remote oil

There are two kinds that I know of. You'll need to determine which type
of sensor your panel gauge is designed to use.
The simplest type is one that uses mercury inside a tube that runs from

Oldest isn't going to equate with highest time. There are probably
plenty of old KR carcasses out there from the seventies and eighties that
either never flew or only flew once or twice.
The highest time KR's that I know of are mine at 1185, finished by Ken
Cottle in 1987 and Sparky's, built by
Welcome back Orma. Gosh, I was thinking your KR might be in the running for
one of the oldest KRs. Searching the databases on Landings.com, several KRs
start showing up with manufacture dates starting in 1975. However, based on
the accompanying registration information, it's quite likely that
Hi guys and girls;
I had my final surgery today, it was on my eye socket. All went very well and
they expect no further problems.
I can now transfer and pivot on my right foot with full weight which opens up a
whole new range of mobility options, so things are looking up in a big way and

I could not help but notice that the list of names under the edit function
were not in alpha order. That would make it easier to find yourself.
Perhaps at some future date that feature could be added to the list.
Hi Orma.
Though it is not sorted alphabetically, if you select the drop down lis
I was saddened to hear that Ol Blue was damaged. I was just wondering which
KR out there is the oldest still flying. Mine is down with the engine out and
needs a paint job. Maybe this year it will become flight ready again, or
maybe the auction block, who knows.

Hello Mark, Mark and fellow Netters. I have been out out touch with the
net and went looking at some of the e-mail today. I have to admit there
have been thousands that I have not read over the past years. I had a look
at the members list and updated/corrected my information. nice list.
A friend of mine who has a different aircraft type is looking for a KR nose
gear. Anyone got one in the back of the garage not being used?
Dear friends, in Europe there are several homebuilder using BMW engines.
You can see informations on www.spang-air.de
