After reading my reply, I think I missed the point. You probably weren't
talking about the Dragonfly canopy. You can make a KR as wide as you want,
but bending the wood that sharply becomes problematic. That's easily solved
by using thinner strips and laminating like the boat builders do, or

The Dragonfly is a pretty floppy canopy until you mount it in a frame.

If you are using a VW Type 1 engine (1600cc Beetle or early Bus based), you
can move the firewall forward two inc
Are you building the KR2 or the KR2S ? With the S, a couple of inches
are added to the front, and another section is added to the rear of the
wing section.
You must be sure your CG is measured and in the range when you are done.
