Hi everyone,
my main question is whether KDE on FreeBSD is affected by the infamous KDE
root vulnerability.
I don't want to complain or anything, and I know it's all volunteer work (I
did lot's testing back in the KDE4 porting efforts), but the current state of
KDE on FreeBSD seems to be rathe
Dear maintainers,
I am suffering from a very annoying bug:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351850
which is still present in KDE 4.14.
If I am not mistaken, KDE-4.14 was released in 2014. Since then there
have been many updates in the year-month-day release scheme:

Hi folks,
is it just me having issues with kdevelop debug mode or is it known to be

Hey everyone!
I just tried building qt4-gui with GTK-Support by setting
QT4_OPTIONS += QGTKSTYLE
in /etc/make.conf since their is no options-knob for it.
The build failed because apperently gtk-includes are missing..
I added them and now it works (see below). Although I think that

Hi,
is there any news on the state of gamin and KDE4? I read an older Blogpost
from Miwi where he recommends Fam. Is it possible to change to Fam now,
without breaking all the other packages?
Is that a possible way for the entire FreeBSD-KDE4 to go?
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I have a couple of Bug-reports up in KDE's Bugzilla, that from my PoV really
reduce KDE's useability under FreeBSD. Maybe some of you could have a look at
them and support the bug-reports with more information in case you can
reproduce the problems. That might make KDE-devs react t

Hi everyone,
I realized that randomly Xorg-Cpu-Usage goes up to 100% slowing everything
down. It goes back down to normal after maybe 20seconds. I have noticed the
following entries in Xorg.o.log although I am not sure they appear right after
the abnormal behaviour (just checked the log now):
I agree, there is something wrong with dbus. Sometimes an application just
hangs (Konqueror mostly). When I try to do something else, like start a
program with alt+f2, I get:
"KLauncher could not be reached via D-Bus. Error when calling

I am experiencing so many performance problems, I dont even know where to

- opening config dialog for any kde-app
Other things slow down randomly:
- application startup
- menus
- kmail in general
- konqueror in general

So here I go again:
I have been using JuK for a while now and it mostly played my music. However
dragon never played video, it always told me:

Hi everyone,
I am not sure whether this is FreeBSD-related, but I noticed that not all KDE-
colors are applied to Qt-Apps. More precisely, some things that should be
shown in blue (and that are drawn blue in kde-apps) like text-selection and
progress-bars are drawn black-on-white in qt-apps.

Hi everyone,
after not having been able to test area51 I thought I could at least give the
new packages a try.
First of all, thanks for the porting efforts, I am sure its a lot of work and a
pain at times.
I am running FreeBSD7 and installed the binary Pkgs as described.
Here's my observations:
I had a Port that needed it on FreeBSD 5.3 aswell, but that didn't need
it later anymore. I am not sure, whether something changed in
FreeBSD-Base or in the Ports system, but it works since 6.0 for me.
