Thanks Stefan. Also, don't forget that I recently added a Layer
context mouse menu item that does this operation. I think it is
called "Extract features by geometry type" or something similar. All
that would be necessary to fix Save Dataset As would be to call this

Larry,
Did you do the integration of this feature? If so, do you have any
ideas on what is causing the error message. (I could try to fix it if
you can give me a rough idea of what might be causing it.)
I will update the wiki with this information. Thank you for checking into it.

I just checked and OpenJump already has this feature implemented. To
see it in action, (in a new task) create a new layer by dragging out a
few rectangles. Then Save Dataset As... "test.shp". Now add some
linstrings to the layer and choose Save Selected Datasets. It should

I'll shoot Erwan an e-mail to see if the OrbiGIS image code might be
ready for integration into other projects and I will report back to
the list.

Hi,
I have a very limited knowledge about imagery stuff.
I know that erwan's team has done a good job in orbisgis with a library
called ImageJ wich is a nice, small, pure java library. I see some
advantages to use such a library compared to JAI which is more heavy and
use native code.

Thank you for your assistance with this Larry. If the code is too
difficult to extract I understand. I'll wait for your feedback. I know
you are likely very busy.

Thank you for the feedback.

Hi Landon,
I'll try to take a look at the SkyJUMP code to break out types so I
can answer questions about it. As best I remember, it is wrapped up
in a whole bunch of other SkyJUMP mods that make it tough to extract.

I'm unaware of any Imagery features that we need. The OrbisGIS raster

Thanks for the updates Peppe, Andreas, and Stefan.
Does anyone have thoughts on the imagery framework? Have we integrated
Vivid's framework or is there more to do?
