I've had a few emails on this and I spent a while this evening trying

It sounds like there are 2 errors people are seeing:

- "Bad file encoding"

Hi Tommy,
You should be able to rename the MobileOrg directory from within the web
interface once you've linked MobileOrg to your Dropbox account. You'll
know it worked because the renamed folder will continue to have the same
special icon that it had prior to the rename, indicating that it is

Hi,
I'd like to announce that MobileOrg 1.5 for iPhone was just approved and
should be available in the AppStore (it may take a few hours to show up
everywhere). This version supports encryption of files stored on a
remote server. It requires Org-mode 7.02+.

Hi,
I submitted 1.5 of MobileOrg (which contains support for encryption) to Apple
for review yesterday.
Hopefully it shows up within a few days.

Hi Greg,
Carsten has already added support on his end for encrypting and decrypting the
files that go into the MobileOrg staging area.
I've just started to pick this back up, so I plan to have it included in the
next update of MobileOrg.
Thanks,

I think it would be helpful to create a series of screencasts to

You are right that the documentation is a bit confusing there. The

files you'd like to have transferred in org-agenda-files or

The problem had nothing to do with encodings, instead it was just a bug that

If you happened to plug in your device somewhat recently and a backup

Hi Dave,
I've been using the current version of MobileOrg on iOS 4.0 since an
early beta and haven't had any trouble. In addition, I've been
testing a new version that builds against the 4.0 SDK and thus
benefits from some of the new features like instant state save and

Hi Buck,
You need a copy of shasum.exe in your system path. You should be able
to download this package from gnuwin32:

You don't need everything from that package, just the one .exe.
Hope this helps,

Hi Neil,
Hope I can shed some light on the configuration for you:

org-agenda-files, those files will be used (one less thing to maintain).
- You don't need the pre/post hooks at all. In your case, just copying

Hi Yuri,
Short answer: not directly.
However, I've had success using a cron job on my server to
periodically run git pull then org-mobile-push in batch mode, which
takes the latest files and stages them into my webdav directory. You
can also automate an org-mobile-pull to integrate changes made

You'll want to set org-mobile-directory to something like

Hi Henri-Paul,
MyDisk.se doesn't provide SSH/SCP access to your files, so you'll need
to use another method to get your files onto their WebDAV server.
On OSX, a Cmd+K in Finder will let you mount a WebDAV share in
/Volumes/. On Linux, there is a FUSE plugin (davfs2) that will
let you mount the

The risk level is fairly low, and you should be fine with the force

org-mobile-push creates index.org for you automatically. MobileOrg uses it as
a starting point from which it finds and fetches your other org files.
org-mobile-push also creates the agendas.org as well as a checksums.dat file so
MobileOrg can avoid re-downloading files that haven't changed.
