Just a quick fyi that there is an additional open meeting on the git forge
work on Wednesdays. There are now two meetings, one at 1000 UTC and another
at the current time of 1400 UTC. These are open meetings, so feel free to

One solution is to create two versions, as offered in the PR above, but
this has not seen any action yet.
I'm in the camp of needing a newer protobuf in rawhide/F41 due to other
packages needing the newer version. (so in a way, I am happy to break
the old stuff over breaking the new stu
