This is due to the fact that the accented icon packs are not packaged.
A fresh install will only have Yaru, Yaru (SVG), Yaru-mate and Yaru-mate (SVG)
available.
When I manually install the variants with the install script, the automatic
mode works as expected and selects the correct colour varian

I have not determined if the fault occurs after 10^15 or 2^30 bytes, but
the former seems more probable. Perhaps the code does something like
read from /sys/class/net/eth0/statistics/{rx,tx}_bytes into a 16 byte
buffer, which would fail at 10^15. But a quick look through the network-
manager source

newer kernels. I tested v3.17-rc3-utopic and v3.17-rc4-utopic kernels.
Internal speakers still do not work and the headphone fix stopped
working in both of these kernels.

Built in spea
Just rebooted again with kernel v3.17-rc4-utopic. Now headphones are
working but internal speakers do not work when they are unplugged. My
results are so inconsistent, changed status back to confirmed.

The fix for bug 1282304, just released, has introduced the following
regression.
Problem: All new non-fullscreen windows are now shrunk by the decoration
size. This produces gnome-terminals of 79 columns by 22 row
This fix solves the problem, but at the cost of unnecessarily resizing
all non-fullscreen windows. Now all new terminals (even those that would
not have been placed over the edge of the workspace) are 79 columns by
22 rows, which is ... unsatisfactory.
I have filed bug 1287472 to track this regres
As of 2012-02-22, ubuntu-desktop does not depend on gwibber, and this
issue is resolved:
# apt-get purge gwibber* libgwibber*

This was partially resolved (for Wi-Fi) in version
0.9.2.0+git.20120126t000800.5151959-0ubuntu2.
Cf. bug 939802, which contains Valgrind data from two users and
