I've an issue with ssh X11 forwarding while launching Java applications, it's a
critical issue because I'm working with my laptop(with Ubuntu 15.10) for a
customer and is impossible to dispatch all the requests.
This is what I do step by step:
1- ssh
I'm running Kubuntu 14.04 LTS and experienced the same problem: xdg-screensaver
assumed that I use kscreensaver.
By upgrading (replacing the xdg-utils Ubuntu 14.04 package by the Upstream
xdg-utils version 1.1.1) I was able to fix the problem on my computer. I
suggest to backport xdg-utils 1.1.

Here's what appears to be happening:
1. ogg123 has a latent bug in how it handles a pthread mutex-- it always tries
to unlock that mutex before exiting, even if the mutex is unlocked already.
glibc on older CPUs tolerates this, which is why nobody has noticed until now

Yes, that was the hint I needed, thanks. It's an issue with the window scaling
factor. I wasn't aware of unity-settings-daemon changing it. That should
explain the 500ms delay too. Onboard probably starts up with scaling-factor 1
The syslog entries starting at Apr 18 15:31:28 are from my manual
disconnection/reconnection through nm-applet.
