I see the same thing. I'm using 12.10 with XFCE and this problem started

I extracted the package that was attached to this bug thread, called
debuild -S -sa, rebuild it with pbuilder and replaced the attached files
of this thread. I did not put a new entry into debian/changelog, as the

Compact. My .thunderbird folder went from 55G to 4.2GB after 20 minutes

"No messages to be downloaded" and the progress bar isn't doing anything

What is irritating about this is the backlight on laptops is usually the
highest power item.
So on battery I want it to always be low power to maximise the battery
life, I don't want it to continuously go bright when I touch my laptop
as this consumes excess battery.
