Unable to resize windows

same problem here. Did a fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04.
After using autologin a lot of programs have no border and shadow.
They also cant be resized any more.
If I log out and in again, this effects are gone.
After a restart with autologin the effects are here again.
If I disable autologin, everyth
on my Ubuntu 24.04 now the package version "46.0-0ubuntu6~24.04.1" was
installed by updates.

based KDE 4.3 LiveCD - xdg-mime didn't give any output at all an
kmimetypefinder gave the same results as David said but with the accuracy of
100 for -f - so in Dolphin the file is correctly associated with .jar.

[Lucid] Rhythmbox notification icon not shown
Happens also to me, but with Rhythmbox starting already in icon mode. Killing
doesn't work, and I have not found any option to avoid the "notification area"
mode.
The only way I found to show rhythmbox up is to launch it again (via terminal,
Alt+F2 or by clicking "Rhythmbox Music Player" under A
No, I hadn't.
Now a black icon (the "icon not found" equivalent) is shown, and near it there
is the Empathy Icon (which I'd like to hide).
Is there any way to show a Karmic-like icon? An icon that does not depend on an
applet, shown near NetworkManager and Volume Manager icon, as it was in
previ
I solved it by reinstalling my system;
But sounds VERY stupid to me to chmod a+r /etc/shadow, as every lamer with John
The Ripper can decrypt your password.
And as you have this problem, we can reopen this bug and you can help
more than I did :)

I am setting this to invalid because I noticed that, when I tried to update my
system, I had a previous dpkg interrupted.
After "dpkg ---configure -a", "apt-get update" and "apt-get dist-upgrade", when
I restarted X, my theme was back to normal and I was able to ch

Setting the gconf key does not work.
I checked the "disable_user_list" checkbox in apps -> gdm -> simple-greeter,
but the only thing happened is that in the list I can't see the "sys" user
anymore, but I keep seeing mine.
Also, when I log in, I get this error message: (attachment)

Moving metacity.desktop sounds to me little dangerous.. I tried to look into
its content to see if there was something about "saving current setup", but I
didn't notice anything..
I'll keep the popup, for now.. It's just pressing "Esc" at login :P
