is that when i told my dad to "shut down the pc" he couldn't find any
reseanoble item in the system menu which seemed to perform this task,

I am having the duplicated sources problem myself... i was about to file
a bug report for it but it looks like it's not worth it, anyway here are
the steps to reproduce the bug on my system:
- pick a sound source to record from from the drop-down list
- start and stop recording
- choose a differen

the /etc/pmount.allow as to make it user-mountable but nautilus doesn't
seem to get notified when the volume gets mounted. Restarting dbus
actually causes the volume to get displayed on the desktop. Funny thing
is, pumount it

The "computer" view in nautilus isn't updated accordingly when a volume
is mounted through, for example, pmount/mount issued directly from the
terminal. I noticed this is not the case with the cdrom drive:

doc from evince but my personal settings are still ignored, it's the

Running a fully updated dapper here. The volume I'm trying to mount is
an ext3 partition on my SATA drive, which I made user-mountable adding
it to /etc/pmount.allow. The behaviour is quite odd, as I have already
stated: double clicking the icon in nautilus actually causes the volume
to get mounted
tried the daily iso today as to make sure i was running in a clean
environment but I am still having that problem...

After the last batch of updates it seems everything is back to normal:
now i can mount partitions through nautilus and chdir to the newly
mounted volume without having to hit the "refresh" button first. In
addition, everything seems to be working as expected even when the
partition is listed in /et
just rebooted and I am having this problem again, anyway, restarting
dbus seems to help... very weird

the problem isn't with evince itself, it's with libgnomeprint... gedit,
evince, you name it: all gnome apps relying on that lib are affected by
this issue. Cups-gnome-manager works ok, problem is, the .lpoptions file
gets ignored by the library.

running the RC lìve cd, on system boot up i am dropped back to the gdm
login screen, autologin doesn't seem to take place, what's worse no
login console is spawned on any terminal making it impossible to
interact with the system in any way, i can take a video of the whole
boot

I too believed that the problem lied with my mic, but i then realized
the problem actually lies with the sound recorded in Gnome. The problem
is simple: you can't play back the audio stream unless it's saved first,
actually you can click the play button but you'll get silence in return.

Hello sebastien, please take a look at the upstream bug report, a patch
to deal with this issue has already been proposed a while back, I wonder
why it hasn't made it yet into gnome, I've just rebuilt nautilus with
this patch applied and everything looks great. Please consider including
this patch
