Last I checked (a few years ago) this problem is due to licenseing
issues. something happened, and those packages were removed from the
debian repository. You can look for them from a third-party repository
such as backports.org or apt-get.org.

come compiled into gaim. I think that you can enable them by going into
Tools>Plugins... I'm not sure, though, as I run Gaim from CVS, which

yahoo changed it's protocol recently. the issue is fixed in gaim v0.
