Just about every window manager you can possibly imagine (and then
some) are packaged for Debian.

Use the three button emulation available in
/proc/sys/dev/mac_hid/*
Hope this helps, Roger...

64MB and PowerPC programs seem to be bigger than their

I use wmaker, otherwise known as WindowMaker, because I'm a die hard
NeXT user. Others like sawfish and the gnome layer, and then there

I don't think you can, seriously. How to set up mouse button
emulation is in the mailing list archives.
0) Figure out how I'm supposed to use X with only one mouse button! :-)

That was it - my mouse was configured incorrectly. Now all I have to do
is:
1) look into what window managers are available
2) get rlogin, etc. installed
3) look into Java
4) learn more about installing pacakages with Debian. My Linux on PCs
experience is limited to Red Hat.
Thanks to everyone. TH
I didn't select a window manager when I installed X. I don't remember
seeing one in the default Xsession file, but an xterm was specified.
I'll check the mouse when I get to that machine again. During the
install/setup process, I was given the chance to change the default for
the mouse and "probe

Check the file /var/log/xdm.log for more information.

What window manager are you using? One thing to try right off the
bat is to stop gdm before logging in, just in case there is
something wrong there. The other thing is to make sure that your
XF86Config file has the right setup for the mouse, namely
/dev/input/mice and protocol IMPS/2. Also, what
I just installed Potato on a PowerMac 7500 with a G3 card. I used the
network install, and al wnet wel (except for some reason I couldn't get
the non-US packages - I think the network at work was screwy). When I boot
into Linux, I get the XDM login screen, but after I enter my
usernam/password, it
