Great news! It is unfortunate that the new binaries
(4.0.1pre2.RC4) do not yet implement the patch.
I've tried them, but the ati driver still does not
work.

i got it to work. being an end-user is easy.
install XF-4.0.1-12.deb, if you -version X you get XF 4.0.2 but whatever..
the ati_drv.o file on the latest deb only looks for r128 and radeon
chips, so..
because you need to compile new drivers, you'll have to grab the source

The reason is that ... I do not have a ZIP drive, and the parameter
does not work for my SuperFloppy. (SF is a 120Mb internal
floppy drive on /dev/hdc )

The result when using linux-kernel-2.2.18.tgz
from ftp.kernel.org is negative. Still no image.
I have in plan to try yaboot with a floppy.
I had a detailed mail on how to do this, but
I can not find it. Is the problem due to BootX?

- LinuxPPC's xfree-xvfb (which provides the file
/usr/X11R6/bin/Xvfb for XF4, via alien)

"lspci | grep VGA" is as follows:

I do use atyfb for console, imposed by BootX. I know
nothing about the ati driver.

Hi,
I am trying to configure XF4 for Lombard.
The distribution is the latest from Debian,
where I added the fbdv v4.0.1 of the LinuxPPC
distribution (Debian still has the old version).
You can find my XF86Config and the resulting
