I don't seem to be able to get my cdrom working. Long ago it worked.
Now if I type "eject" I get: eject: unable to open `/dev/scd0'
I've now compiled a benh kernel using the iBook config, with IDE support
and SCSI emulation. Am I missing something on modules.conf?

In theory, it's good to use the battery regularly because then it doesn't
spend all of its life being charged while already at capacity.
But the details probably depend on knowing more about your systems
electronics than I do.

nel and I thought I'd recompile to get
rid of the "-noav" tag and make sure the kernel and MOL completely agreed.
So I tried to run "make xconfig". And got the error above.
It seems I'm doing something wrong. Please help?

False alarm. Cancel that. Sorry.
On the suspicion that *I* must have done something, I wiped my
/usr/src/linux (aka /usr/src/benh) and ran the rsync again. Problem
vanished.
As you were.
}Well, with libncurses5-dev, "make menuconfig" gives me a menu.
}But the menu breaks when I try to select the

make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/benh_kernel/drivers'
make: *** [_dir_drivers] Error 2
I think I'll just look for a canned .config file now and see if that
works.

Hmm. I'll ammend my previous message: on internal speakers, this

So how do I shut off the microphone? How do I prevent this from happening
again? I didn't even know we had microphone drivers in the current kernel.
