Sorry. Me again. I wiped /usr/src/linux and rsync'd again and now the old problem is back: "make xconfig" breaks complaining:
amelia:/usr/src/linux# make xconfig rm -f include/asm ( cd include ; ln -sf asm-ppc asm) make -C scripts kconfig.tk make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/benh_kernel/scripts' cat header.tk >> ./kconfig.tk ./tkparse < ../arch/ppc/config.in >> kconfig.tk drivers/video/Config.in: 216: can't handle dep_bool/dep_mbool/dep_tristate condition make[1]: *** [kconfig.tk] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/benh_kernel/scripts' make: *** [xconfig] Error 2 This is very frustrating. I did this because the MOL install had asked me to replace /usr/include/linux with a link to /usr/src/linux/include/linux before compiling. (Likewise with /usr/include/asm.) So I did. And MOL compiled. But it refused to run, complaining of a module mismatch, even though it reported: Running kernel: 2.4.20-pre7-ben0-noav -------------------------------------------------------------- Available modules: 2.4.20-pre7-ben0 in /usr/local/lib/mol/0.9.65 I was running the precompiled kernel and I thought I'd recompile to get rid of the "-noav" tag and make sure the kernel and MOL completely agreed. So I tried to run "make xconfig". And got the error above. It seems I'm doing something wrong.
