the correct version config file. Then you need to compile the
kernel, otherwise nvidia installer is not satisfied. But no need
to install, it is enough to have a kernel source tree with compilation
results in that directory.

but I have no idea if this works in Knoppix.
Perhaps asking your question in a Knoppix mailing list would make
sense?

disk that works on your laptop, I would use that because it is faster
than creating a new boot disk.

show on the client, i.e. is it really mounted rw. Try writing both as root
and ordinary user. Check logs on server and client when mounting and

My understanding is that the serial Palm cradles use a different
protocol for communication than the USB cradles. So what you are
trying to do may not work, because the programs are using the USB
protocol trying to communicate with the serial cradle.
