Hey all...
I recompiled my kernel 2.4.2, and did all of the System.map,
vmlinuz copying, then ran LILO (which seemed quite happy).
However, when I boot the computer, I get the following prompt,
after which it freezes:

Hi,
I try to install Teles.S0/Teles.BRI PCMCIA card into my laptop.
I tried the stock kernel 2.2.18 and a recompiled 2.2.19.
Compiled it as a module.
When I try to insert (modprobe hisax) into kernel 2.2.19
the isdnutils reports that the hisax module is not inserted. But lsmod
gives a list with

I have an old Dell Latitude LX that has proven to be very reliable over the years and powerful enough to handle the loads I put it through. In addition, the price is right. But today the old harddrive crashed, so I need to get a replacement.
Now I do not think they make 500M ide harddr

Are you sure you can't get those anymore?

Hi,
Been pretty stupid I'm afraid.
The computer:-

Came with Win98.

Dumped Win98
Loaded NT4.0 (SP6)

I can't imagine that you can't do a straight(startup/install) boot from the

Boot frm CD into install

Hi Joachim,
Had exactly the same problems on my AT&T Globalyst 130 (also Toshiba
drive). I couldn't track down the problem exactly up to now, as I don't
have a replacement drive and cable. However I would suspect some hardware
related problem.
