No, you have a Dell lattitude if you bought it from Dell and it says

And by doing so, you'll have two advantages:
1) you do not do anything illegal (sending you a copy of a recovery cd
would violate copyrights and licences)
2) you get a fresh install of the best OS (i.e. Linux) and furthermore,
it's best distribution (i.e. debian)

Thanks for the config file. All I needed to do was add a section in my
Screens definition to say DefaultDepth 16/24. I assumed if I only had a
16bpp screen defined it would use it rather then looking for an 8bpp.
