Hello,
In the last few weeks I noticed a regression in performance of the

I occasionally see the same on Thinkpad X220 too. You don't need to

aemon. I think what
happens is that you still have the old modprobe config file installed,
which was shipped as a part of ipw3945 before (see bug 399491 for
details). If you have /etc/modprobe.d/ipw3945-modules, please remove
it, then it should work as expected.
- Remove it and don't support sparc32 with this etch kernel.

I think that changing ABI without abiname bump is a more reasonable
solution than dropping it completely. Impact would be pretty minor,
given the number of people using sparc32.

would be a comparison of working 2.6.16 and 2.6.18 dmesg's side by

modprobe -r ipw3945
modrpobe ipw3945
This will (re)insert the ipw3945 module and automatically starts the
daemon.

Hi Michael,
I just wanted to check whether you had better luck using
ipw3945/ipw3945d with newer versions of the kernel and/or driver. Does
the daemon still hang when kill switch is on?

rtc module works fine in the latest kernels, so I'll close this one
