merge request [1]. The fix is available in release 20250109. Please

.2.42 - very odd behaviour. Can't even get past DM login screen.
Conclusion: this bug looks transient. It should go away after upgrading
kernel to 3.3 or higher.
Hope, 3.2.41/42 won't make into stable release.
