Also, just to let Mr. Pastern know -- I am running X4.2, as well as KDE3.1 beta. EVERYTHING that I have was gotten via apt. The system works. It isn't difficult. Also, kde.org has a apt-source so you can get KDE 3.0.3 IIRC. If you need help setting it up, people here are willing to do that
