Hello,
The cited problems could have solutions / workarounds documented.
In our data center, the problem nr 1 was not heard of for years. It was alerted
at the article [0] that changing hw changes the id.
Regarding problem nr. 2, we already decided to not directly convert linux
physical machines to
on [0].
I hope this helps to improve d-i.

Hello,
I found that Via Tech has linux drivers for its chipsets. WITH SOURCE CODE and
binaries for some distros (suse, rh, fedora, mandrake, redflag). I am not sure about
its
source code license.
Unable to find any debian package yet.
Main drivers page (lots of linux drivers for many kinds of
r overall, even for newbies.
Some improvements at usability (no "back" choice at most menus; and a study on
partitioning tool) and increasing hardware database and it will become a VERY good
installer.
Good work, d-i team!!

Sir:
I found at july debian-users list archive that d-i is not installing resolvconf
package. And that it is the main cause of pppoe problems.
Actually it is not installed at my system, after a fresh install.
Please, verify this problem before the sarge release.
Also, verify this:

Hello,
Following the hint from Savio Ramos, I installed etherconf.
The package tried to configure dhcp.
I configured it for static, then edited /etc/network/interfaces ,
commenting out the lines of static configuration.
After, called pppoeconf and it "seemed" to work.
But after a new reboot, pppo

Hello,
The installer did not create the /dev/dvd link to the /dev/cdrom .
Maybe because it not detected the drive as a cdrw/dvd one.

Hello,
When trying to install nvidia 3d drivers, I saw that d-i installed 386 kernel,
instead of the Athlon (k7?) kernel.
I did not install the nvidia nor the kernel.
Maybe it is the cause of gnome and kde terrible start up times and windows and
apps delays.
What can I do?
