The user that created the solution posted it at 27 april 2004 at that list. edit the /etc/network/interfaces include the 2 following lines: auto lo iface lo inet loopback restart network or reboot. It should be included before the sarge release. The problem (in fresh installs) is very frustrating. Please, include the simple solution as soon as possible. Regards.
