Hi,
I'm trying to compile socket++-1.11ln under cygwin (I updated cygwin
sometime in March with the automatic tool) and I get errors while compiling.
I posted this message last week, but I have received no responses so far. I
would appreciate any hint on what I can do.
Thanks,

Updating gettext is on my todo list. Unfortunately, the cygwin patches
can't go into the "real" gettext until after libtool releases version

Since there were no objections, I am going to mark these packages

I've found a problem with autoconf-2.53a, but the same behavior is
exhibited by autoconf-2.53. So, I'm going to mark
autoconf-devel-2.53a-1 current, but remove a-d-2.53-1 so that a-d-2.52-4
remains
Okay, since there were no objections, I am going to mark these packages
current.

there is a note about GTK+ and glib, would that be of possible interest

CYGWIN is really a great thing. I want to use GTK natively on Windows, not with XFree
or another XServer. What is the easiest way to install GTK with CYGWI`N ?
Do i have to download all the packages for GTK from www.gimp.org or
is there a whole GTK package available ??
THANKS!

I am trying to compile a package that has a dependency on
gettext-0.11 (cygwin supplies gettext-0.10.40).
Trying to build gettext-0.11 (and also gettext-0.11.2) I
get the following errors building the src subdirectory:

The fact that you have the contrib and latest directories implies
on or both of the following two things to me:

(2) You do not really have the newest installer.
The reason I say this is that the new family of installers does

does cygwin have syslogd on win98?, or win98 can not

FYI - just tried setup 2.243 on W98 SE. Download to local dir
worked perfectly, but install from local dir hung on the

a long time in case it was a network problem, then finally pressed
cancel and got:
