All the mirrors (head and aft cabin) on our 37/40 are some sort of mirrored
plastic that looks like glass.

conditioner installation located in aft cabin hanging locker, and would

That is the best place to do it — and I’ve seen others there.
The only problem I’ve heard of is the need to install new thru hulls for the AC
as it’s not a good idea to share your engine intake.
Take lots of photos.

Mine is under the stairs. I have no mirror. 16000btu doesn't cool well...
But I don't know exactly why.

Our A/C is installed under the companionway stairs, above the engine, as
you suggested.
As our Aft Cabin mirror is plastic we just cut a hole through the mirror
itself for the A/C vent. It looks fine.

I wonder if they were the older, original style that didn't have the water
vent tube. I believe you are supposed to 'Burp' the seal upon launch, to get
the air out. I have never done this, and never had any problem. I would
think you would have to really be spinning the shaft pretty fast to overhea
I preferred the old PSS/PYI seals without the vent since it made one less
complication during install. It added user responsibility...
The guy at the sailboat show didn't indicate that the last-drop seals were
more or less for power or sail.
I assume that both companies will provide critical dim
