I bought new handrails from TeakMarineWoodwork.com and they were very nice pieces of wood. Just be sure to specify that you do NOT want the standard oil finish if you are planning to varnish or use other types of finish. I also discovered on my boat that C&C had not used a ruler when they drill

That looks very stout. We don't have the plywood bulkhead running from the rudder tube back to the transom on out boat. That would certainly help make up for any loss of strength from cutting the rudder tube. Our mount for the ram is similar to what Josh has but the ram is much higher up, in the
