That looks very stout. We don't have the plywood bulkhead running from the rudder tube back to the transom on out boat. That would certainly help make up for any loss of strength from cutting the rudder tube.
Our mount for the ram is similar to what Josh has but the ram is much higher up, in the aft port corner of the lazarette. I think we may have the same ram, they look very similar. Ken H.
