Hi All,
Last year B&G had a promo/rebate on their wind/speed/depth package where
they offered a free display with the purchase of the kit. That was a good
deal and I would have taken advantage of it then but other priorities won
out.
Right now, it looks like B&G is only offering a $100 rebate on

Just downloaded the B&G rebate PDF from Defender, and the rebate for the Triton
Speed/Depth/Wind package is $150US and an additional Triton give $50US more.
Defender has a 2 Triton + Speed/Depth/Wind package at $1700. If I compare with
BLYacht.com pricing for the equivalent (Triton S/D/W pack + 1
Bruno,
A number of things to take into consideration here.
a) The keyway will need to be cut into the shaft before shipping.
Accurate measurements are crucial.
b) The Drive Saver will be a good addition, but it will also affect the
finished shaft length. I had to trim several in

Thanks all. I guess my mistake was looking at Canadian sites... and not
reading the rebate form carefully!
I've purchased from Defender in the past and it's usually worked out but
with the exchange rate being what it is at the moment I didn't really
consider it. Pierre, I didn't know about blyacht.
Three other Canadian online vendors for your consideration:

The B&G Wind / Depth / Speed has a $150 (US, so the form says) rebate until end
of March. The package is $1600 (CAN) at Westmarine. I've seen it at US online
retailers for as low as $1230 (US) ... but then you've got shipping and
probably duty to contend with.

Bruno,
You are a very good friend.
What make and model boat does your friend have? 1" Shaft". Length? Keyway
dimensions? Taper for the prop? Cutless bearing OD and length?
There is a slim chance someone on this list has replaced theirs so your friend

The guy who owns Holland Marine in Toronto has (or at least had) a CS36 but
I don't know if it is a Merlin.
He also got a lot of CS left over parts, after CS closed down.
It is possible that he got some of their documentation as well, I do know

Please tell your friend (Fred) that a very
important step in a successful prop shaft install
is to true the flange face with it mounted to the
