Listers,
I don't know if it was something that the previous owners installed or
something that came out of the factory, but I have three buttons on the
starboard side of my helm seat, and one on the port side -- and I have NO IDEA
whatsoever what they are meant to do. Here is a photo of

A J-80 I used to race on had an instrument system which used buttons like that
(they were on a little panel) to rotate the display to different readouts. And
to reset the timer. Maybe that is what was installed and since removed. I think
it was an Oakum system.

And yes, there's a switch on our Ships Circuits panel that is labelled "Warp
Core" that lights them up.
:-)
All the best,

I'm not sure if this is applicable, but does your Navionics have a time setting
that references UTC? If this is not set correctly your tide info would be
hours out.

Hello all,
When bonding bronze thru Hull fittings, do you bond only to the lead keel or
both the keel and the engine block?

Most important factor is to properly torque the keelbolts. Loosen them and
then torque them to 350 ft lbs dry or 10% less if lubricated.
That done, the keel should not flex on the keel stub and you can then glass the

Hi Chris,
My keel joint treatment was very similar to what Dennis describes
except I used chopped fibreglass strand instead of carbon (I don't
need the weight savings down there :)
Still good 5 years later.
