Hi

I'm going to the west coast of Vancouver Island and have a Garmin 172c chart
plotter. I've discovered that getting a chip for it is not easy since they
don't make, sell or support them anymore. I'm looking for someone who wants
to send or lend that chip. I can temporarily swap for Seattle and/or the
Inside Passage. It is the proprietary chip they used to produce for the
172 and some other plotters. It is pre G2, although there are G2 chips with
the same design.

Also, a question on Navionics. I have it loaded on my Ipad. I really like
it, but it seems to have its own view on the currents for Race Rocks. They
don't agree with any of the printed material on currents. And we are not
talking minutes of difference, but hours. Does anyone have any insight into
this? Also, it seems that although they have Race Rocks wrong, places that
are based on Race Rocks (at least in the government supplied , like Sidney
Channel are right.

Thanks

Don

PS. Previously I had sent a message out about water not pumping in my C&C
34 and got lots of feedback. As it turns out, everyone was right. Had
some blockage in my mixing elbow, a thermostat which was partially blocked
(even though it appeared to be working) and a gasket on the strainer that
needed replacing. All of them combined seemed to cause the pump to at times
not have enough oomph to get the water going. Thanks to all who responded
for your useful advice. I also got the injectors done to reduce the carbon
build up - 1 boat unit. No more black billowing on start up.
