Did you buy a separate VHF splitter or an independent antenna.

I have a splitter but I have not installed the unit yet so I don't know how
well the splitter will work.

Listers,
Last year, during the voyage to the C&C Mystic Rendezvous, I discovered
my 20+ year-old Robertson Autopilot wasn't working. Before I take on the task
of disconnecting, shipping and paying for servicing, I'm also considering
replacing it with a newer energy-saving and efficient

Displacement is 18,000 and its rated for just over 16,000. Good point.
I wouldn't use it for rough waters or big breezes. I'm thinking more for light
air under power and going a long distance.
All the best,

Looking at the boat and comparing it with my 1980 version: that one is about
as stock from the factory you can get - it doesn't have a wind instrument,
but the display on the bulkhead could be a double - speed and depth - or
just depth. The display near the wheel is probably for the autopilot.
In smooth seas with a balanced rig you are probably OK. You might want to
call Ray and ask them what t is really engineered for.

Gary,
Thanks for the info. I didn't see that the winches were not
self-tailing -- that makes single handing a bit more challenging.
Only a depth meter - no speed or wind. And yes, that is an autopilot

The Robertson autopilots are generally very reliable. I assume its an
under-deck unit. The ones I have worked on are easy to troubleshoot and repair.
Unless you have money to burn and just have to have a new unit, I suggest doing
some simple troubleshooting to find exactly where the problem is.
