I suggest turning it off. In order for it to run you'll need water flow. Too many boats regularly sink as a result of a failed hose or failed through-hull. Imagine the discharge hose off of the AC coming loose and spilling the water into the boat instead of overboard. Besides that, fires are caus

"Long run" depends on where you put the unit and more importantly where you put the water pump. Mine being under the stairs means that the head only adds about 5 feet - I guess - of hose. Of course there is room under the sink to put the pump in the head too. Truth be told, I didn't run my line
