Wondering what you guys use to clean and lighten interior teak? Heard lots about the finish (my 1985 35-3 seems to have some traces of ancient oiled-wood finish, does not appear to be varnished.) My teak is rather light, and would like to keep it that way. No teak mine look for me...anyone have

I bought my 39 TM when she was not quite a year old and she came from the factory with a rubbed oil finish on all interior teak. The only factory applied varnish was the cabin top hand rails, cabin hatch board and it's framing and helm seat.. Jack Fitzgerald HONEY C&C 39TM In a message

Actually, my previous boat (1981 30mkI) was NOT varnished, just oiled. My 1979 LF38 was varnished, but I think it might have been done (or certainly redone) by the previous owner; I can't believe the factory would have sent out a varnish job that looked like that... So I don't think it's fair

I'm curious why one would go to all the bother of prepping the interior wood for a coat of whatever and choose anything other than a good quality flat or rubbed finish varnish. The interiors of most of our boats were varnished at the factory, and, after 20 or 30 years still look very good. Oil f
