Actually, my previous boat (1981 30mkI) was NOT varnished, just oiled.  My 1979 
LF38 was varnished, but I think it might have been done (or certainly redone) 
by the previous owner; I can't believe the factory would have sent out a 
varnish job that looked like that...  So I don't think it's fair to say that 
all C&C's have varnished teak down below.
