Get some calipers and take measurements on the pedestal. Then take the new wheel to a machine shop. They can do it perfect for relatively cheap. OTOH, you could take both wheels to the shop and have them match the new to the old. Edson made a tapered shaft and straight shaft. You may be encount

Chuck, Welcome back! FWIW, my 35/3 has a 42 inch Edson wheel. I replaced the camel's hump with a lower, narrower homemade teak seat that is an arch. Maybe a rotary rasp on a drill? Sounds like a couple thousandths of an inch is all you need. Joel 35/3 Annapolis On Mon, Jan 4, 2016 at 3:35 PM
