I would guess that you probably have a Type 2 (up to 33,000 lbs displacement),
due to the fact that your course computer is a 300; if it was a Type 1, you’d
probably have the smaller 100 course computer. I just checked the manual for
the 100/300 systems — I love that Raymarine has the older man

Fred — can you get me the model number of the linear drive in your boat (I’m
assuming it’s linear…)? Specs on the website show the displacement of the
C&C44 at 20,000 lbs; the drive you’ve got will determine whether you’ll need
the Raymarine ACU-200 or ACU-400 course computer. The Type 1 drive

Fred — if you’re in a position to get a new autopilot course computer, I’d

I believe that any brain will drive your system, even non-Raymarine ones,
and the new brain boxes are much smarter than the old ones. I'm sure the
experts will chime in...Fred, Rich?

Fred. I have an Autohelm 6000 and it is still working fine. There are a
couple of spare connections which I suspect were for a hard wired remote. If
you come upon a source for older Autohelm equipment I'd appreciate hearing
too; having the remote would be handy.. Thanks
