Brian,
The Rigging Company did a complete inspection/re-heading/replacement of the rod
rigging on my 34+ last year, and I was satisfied with their work and pricing.
They also replaced the life lines several years ago and did a good job with
that.

I am having the rod rigging on my 1991 34+ inspected and replaced as needed
by “The Rigging Company” in Annapolis. They replaced the lifelines several
years ago and did a good job for a fair price. The mast is down and the
rigging is in their shop now — just got an updated invoice which increased
I refinished the cabin sole on my 34+ several years ago and used multiple
coats of Smith's CPES - Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer on the top
side, followed by about 6 coats of Epifanes two- part polyurethane. I have
been very pleased with the result which is a glossy finish. Since I

Joel,
As many others, I used butyl tape from Compass Marine for the hatches on my
34+. I did the re-bed job two years ago and there have been no leaks.

Joe,
I had the same symptoms with my knotmeter last week. The boat had been
unused for several weeks with the bung installed. I installed the
transducer(s) before leaving the dock and the knotmeter read zero until we
had covered about 5 miles when it started reading correctly. I assumed

David,
Check out the article "Rod Rigging -- Generic Tuning" by Greg Cutter in the
Do It Yourself section of the C&C Photo Album and Resource Center. I'm
going through the same process after re-stepping the mast on my 34+ this
spring.

Chuck,
How many coats did it require to cover the black? I'm thinking about doing
the same thing. Have a little two-part polyurethane left over from the
spars painting project last spring.

David,
I have one for a Raytheon ST60 which I'm replacing this year. The mast is
down and I can get it today if you want it. It has about 60-70 feet of
cable and I have a junction box you can have as well. I have no use for it
and you can have it for the price of postage if you want. I have the

I've been using the Water Witch for several years -- the bilge on the 34+
is narrow with keel bolt nuts in the bottom which makes the float switch
sit too high IMHO. I can't get all the way to the bottom with the Water
Witch but can retain less water than with a float switch. I also have one

I'm going on Monday also so we can get together sometime toward the end of the
day. My cell phone is 703-625-5488.

That’s what I do — flush one or two gallons of fresh water through the head
during pump out when the pump runs dry. Seems to work OK. I also pour about a
cup of Hydrofil, which I get from Fawcetts in Annapolis, in the head and flush
into the tank several times between pump outs. This works bett
Steve,
I have UK sails on my 1991 34+. The main is dacron and the genoa is a 135 Tape
Drive, both built by Scott Allen when he had the UK loft in Annapolis. Both
sails have been great — the genoa in particular has been a fast sail and has
retained its shape very well for over 7 years, although
David,
What purchase do you have on your traveler? On my 34+, I have a Harken system
with 4:1 mounted on the coach roof. I just recently rebuilt it using the old
car and track by replacing the ball bearings and replacing the moving blocks
and end plates for the car. We were out in 15+ winds yes
I know it too -- I'll be on Impromptu crewing for Steve in the Annapolis -
Bermuda race.
