Paul,
Did you ask for 1.5 ounce? In light to moderate air .75 is plenty. If it
is blowing you will probably use your jib. 24 feet is plenty of chute! I
have a dacron jib from National Sails/Rolly Tasker. Very happy after 3
seasons. No experience with their chutes or socks.

I have a North asym, new, never been flown with launching sock. It has an "I"
of 47.5 and a "J" of 15.9, .75 oz 984sq ft.

Are you planning on purchasing off the shelf 12V refrigeration kit or building
your own?
When you live aboard do you plan to sail or just stay in one place?

Paul, I also own a C&C 36 and lived aboard mine for 3 years while stationed at
the Pentagon. You can contact me at ff1...@aol.com for any questions you may

I do know that there were two versions of the interior and the one I have is
not compatible with living aboard.

I think that the best way of searching the archive is using Google (the built
in search is not that great).
e.g. search for “stus-list refrigeration” or “stus-list keel bolts”

Paul,
What part of the country will you be living? If it is someplace where you
will have the boat closed up during the winter months (for keeping the heat
in). I highly recommend a room dehumidifier. This keeps the moisture at bay
that is produced while living aboard during the winter months. Her
Paul,
I own a 1981 CnC 36. Contact me off list for general questions on the boat if

I have a 35 Mk III, so this may or may not be helpful. My icebox is large
- around 8 cubic feet, and is aft of the stove and just forward of the
bulkhead, with the lazarette on aft of the bulkhead. I mounted the
compressor in the lazarette and ran the copper lines through the bulkhead,

Paul - I won’t comment on living aboard a 36’ boat - that’s for you to decide.
My wife & I lived aboard for 7 years. For refrigeration we only used the built
in box for soda/beer and fresh produce. Any 12V system is fine for that
application and you don’t need a terribly big box. We then boug
Hello all, I am looking at a C&C 36 pretty seriously for a liveable boat. I
think it will work out for me, but am looking at a few things that may need
to be done to make the boat comfortable for year round living aboard.
1.) Icebox refrigeration, what size is the icebox? I am trying to figure
