Just had the incredible good fortune to attend a viewing of this afternoon's AC
races over-commentated by Dave Perry. I challenge anyone to say that the racing
was not exciting Having Dave's perspectives was just awesome!
- and what about that near capsize!!

For me the Americas Cup lost the most apeal when they alowed crews to be
multinationals.
The Plusses still outweigh the negatives.
Better camera work on the boats, on the water and from helicopters
Better TV coverage, on at a reasonable hour
Better commentating, more knowledgable sailors inst
Yeah that isn't the way the sleeve is set up. It is a new sail from Bacon that
they had made and it comes with the ATN sleeve. That sleeve is tied together
permanently. I just need to cut that knot and retie it with a bowline. I think
Bacon goofed getting the sleeve set up this way.
Thanks.
Thanks. This is the one sold by ATN. I've got a call into them. It really
looks like it doesn't come apart.

The block that ATN sells is just a ratchet block with a snap shackle, so
you can't open it. According to their website picture you should be able to
undo a knot and pass it through...

If you truly have a snatch block you should be able to find a way to open it
and put the line round the sheave without cutting the line. My new Garhauer
snatch block has a plunger that you pull and then one cheek swivels to expose
the sheave. My old "no name" snatch blocks have a spring load
Following advice of several sages on this list and thank you, we got an aspin
with ATN sleeve. I also got the ratcheted snatch block that ATN sells to help
with the dousing process.
So we are stringing this all up and got stuck on a detail. How to get the
snatch block integrated with the d
Thanks Jimmy, your first point is why I raised the question. All of this
was prompted by reading a blog from a boater who said, essentially, "any
size can go anywhere, provided you have the patience to wait for the right
weather". So I will sit in Silva Bay or Clam Bay or wherever for a day or
two
And replace the impeller on the raw water pump. Removing the fuel tank and
cleaning might be a bit excessive before a delivery. I usually take lots of
Racor filter elements because often the grunge in the bottom of the tank gets
shaken up when you get offshore. Polishing the fuel is a nice idea,
And, if you choose to deliver on its own bottom, have the fuel tank removed and
cleaned. If not practical, have a reputable vendor polish the fuel. Carry
lots of fuel filter elements.

That will be a great trip! I hope that works out for you! I'd be envious! Lol
I would say, if all goes through with the purchase, try and find a good,
reputable diesel mechanic to go though the engine, tune it change out all the
lubricants check all the pumps and any other maintenance items.
